When Amazing Backup creates the Backup folder within the Amazing Charts folder itself, are the contents of this folder complete enough to restore the application, database and imported items? I am interested in backing up AC onto a flash drive to take off site for added security. For some reason, setting up Amazing Backup to directly copy onto the flash drive itself frequently fails.

The backup file does contains all the data needed to resurrect the entire database, including imported items. There is, however, an advanced setting that one can set so the backup does not included the imported items. By default, Imported Items are INCLUDED in the backups.

The Restore Utility (found in the Amazing Charts directory) is capable of resurrecting the data from the backup (.enc) file.

What happens when you try to backup directly to the flash? What error do you get?

Please try reinstalling Amazing Charts (download the latest version at www.amazingcharts.com/beta) and let me know if it solves it. If not, please ping us at www.amazingcharts.com/help so we can sort it out.
