Hi Everyone,
I have been using AC for about a year now which has been fabulous for my practice. I have been patiently waiting for the patient portal so my patients can access their records. In the meanwhile, I have developed a "Personal Medical Program" for my patients which I have loaded on USB drives with my practice name, logo, and phone number so my patients can keep their records with them (for a fee of course, the USB drives aren't cheap!).
The program is encrypted and is password protected. I am able to upload the CCR record from Amazing Charts and the program auto-populates the demographics, med list, allergies/alerts, immunizations, and problem list. The program stores information such as power of attorney, pharmacy info, past medical history, encrypted document storage (pdf, jpg, gif, doc, et al). My patients love having their medical records on them when they travel or visit specialists. And the USB drives have been great marketing for my practice.
Does anyone else utilize anything similar in their practices? Thanks!

Is the program above commercially available or did you design it for yourself ? Interesting concept for more technosavvy patients.

Nice idea. Only, the fee isn't only to cover the cost of the USB drive---its for offering that service period. Really good idea.

There are companies that are/were offering something similar to the tune of $50 per USB with the program loaded. And of course, you had to buy in bulk. I liked the idea but not the cost so I made my own.
