we're trying to downsize and protect ourselves from the likely economic fallout by merging with another practice to save on overhead, etc.

both practices use ac, but they have different clinic names, docs, and pts (with an rare overlap pt). i was wondering if anyone had experience merging databases. i don't think the sync function would work, b/c that assumes the same practice and docs. so i was thinking of exporting all pts from one practice, filtering out the duplicates, then importing that info into the other practice. that leaves me w/ duplicates, and i haven't figured out yet how to integrate that info. and also, i'd have to figure out what to do with the docs. anyone ever had to do this?

I did it for my wife's practice. They were in the same position with two docs merging, both using AC. I asked the AC support people and they could not do it.

Then I used my database skills and moved the database into one. It takes some db skills. I just had to make sure that I offset the patient ID's and then mostly everything worked. It takes some db manupulations but it is doable.
