I upgraded to V4 from V3.7 last night and V4 works well on my main computer running Vista. One of my clients is working well too (all computers run Vista). My database is in Public folders and my computers are connected via wired ethernet. This setup has worked well with V3.7 for the past year.

The problem is with my 4 other clients; whenever I try to open amazing charts I get the error "SQL Server Connection Error"

In the errors detail box: There was a miscellaneous error while trying to start up. Please contact technical support... Error: Invalid procedure call or argument

Has anybody else seen this error? Like I mentioned above, one of my client computers accesses the database without problems.

Thanks,

Carlos

This is precisely the error that closed my office for 3 days! Carlos was able to fix it yesterday, but it took him hours. I now have the same error in my home office and anticipate having the problem with a new computer arriving next week. All run XP.

Sorry, I don't have a fix suggestion. It would be great if AC could provide either a self-help solution or corrected installation software.

I had something goofy like that when I first updated. I have 5 windows login screens and I had to log in on the only screen that had administrator rights (mine, of course) which loaded properly.

After that, I could log in from the other login screens after finding the database.

Strange, but it worked.

This happened to me too but it was only when the user did not HAVE DMINISTRATOR PRIV. For example, I installed under my user account but when changed user could not log onto the server. got the same error. switched users and it worked.

We just moved to a new office, set up wireless and changed to V4 all at the same time.

Anybody know whether we can map network drive on clients and run AC

Our Tech Support folks were able to troubleshoot this by doing a google search for the error phrase "1401 error" which popped up during the process, and found an entry on the Adobe website with instructions that solved the issues: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb405573

While this information pertains to Adobe Creative Suite software, it applied to the Amazing Charts installation as well. This was the process that solved drwolffe's issue.
