I did the upgrade over the weekend and started V4 today. The installation went well overall on our XP pro peer to peer network but I have noted a few anomalies:
1 I seem to have a bunch of old notes to acknowledge dating back a few years when I bring up a patient's chart

2 When I reactivate a drug, it used to be treated as a new prescription. Now I have to reactivate it and then do a refill if I want to print a new prescription. I think I like this approach better but it was a change.

Also the recent AC newsletter mentioned that e-prescribing was built-in. I don't see anything for e-prescribing. Do they mean they have a link to New Crop or rCopia to do e-prescribing?
If so, that does not exactly qualify as built-in in my book.

Overall it seems to be a nice upgrade and the new security prescriptions will be handy.

Yes, that's what it means...you have to sign up with NewCrop or rCopia.

Yes, we still tie to New Crop for e-Prescribing, although we are working to make e-Prescribing easier and less confusing.

Frankly, e-Prescribing is one of those things that is a good idea, but still has a long way to go before it really makes our (aka the providers) lives easier.

We are working on a CCHIT certified version now (V5?) and will either have improved integration of e-Prescribing built in for that, or soon thereafter.

For now, the intergrated e-Prescribing remains the New Crop interface.

Jon, is there anyway to get the E-scribeing to work through other systems? For example, I have had the I-scribe system for more than a decade. (Did you get the copy of the blanks I use for that?)
