I have used AC since 2006 but did not start with the yearly support until this past year. Doesn't the support include updated ICD codes? What do I need to do to update? I neglected to check out the actual AC site for this question.. it is probably there. So my next question will be.. if updating, does it wipe out your edited codes- ie replacing the whole database or only the codes that have changed?

On another listserv there was a notice that the old code for hematuria is no longer valid and now there are more specific codes... so now I can expect a denial on a patient seen this week.

The new code database is currently being tested internally with the program and I hope to have it out in the next week or two. (It should be in beta release before that.) Hang tight a bit longer...

Hello All,

Has the ICD-9 database been updated yet? This is a major inconvenience as I bill patients directly and provide them with the printed HCFA 1500 form for them to submit to their insurance.

These forms are being returned to me by the insurance company stating that I've coded the diagnoses incorrectly. Upon looking in the ICD-9 book, I see they are correct and that the AC codes are no longer valid.

Anyone else getting caught in this delay?

See "http://www.amazingcharts.com/beta". At ver. 4.0.44 the ICD-9 codes were updated to 2009. If you want you can update to the newest version of the Beta to get them, or you can wait until v.4 is released officially.
