I have been trying to add a new schedule for a dummy provider I am using for office procedures (these are scheduled independent of my schdule). I have already successfully done this for 4 other similar providers (I do a lot of ancillaries). However, I cannot seem to get this last one added. I go through the usual administrative function, it says the schedule has been added but it never shows up. Any thoughts anyone?

I would sit down with one of the other four and as gracious as you can, let him/her know you have to let him or her go. Obviously, I have no clue.

Bert,
I was waiting for your words of wisdom. Unfortunately, neither Bone Density Scan nor Vascular Studies think you are the least bit funny. Guess I will have to figure this out on my own. Is there a limit to the number of "Dummy" providers one may make?

Leslie,
I have been watching this user board for several years; but jumped out on my own in October 2008. I have a million questions and have learned a great deal from your interesting discussions with Bert and the others. I am a solo FP and would like to learn more about "Dummy" Providers. I look forward to learning from each of you. thanks.

Lisa,
Thanks for the compliment. What is it you would like to know about dummy providers? Besides me, lol.

I tried early on to use "Lisa Lou" as a dummy. I was opening charts in my office and previewing and sending to "Lisa Lou" so I could open in the exam room without exposing patients in the exam room to the whole schedule and any other messages in my inbox. I purposely have my monitors positioned so patients can see and participate in the documentaion of their visits. What I have done is switch to thin screens that I can turn so they cannot see what is one the screen; I went back to this when I realized that "Lisa Lou" could not e-scribe and that was a bummer. So, any ideas on how to make this work, or do I just need to ask Jon about allowing me to have another provider, even though I am the only person in my office with any clinical experience!!

Lisa,
I have been on the boards for like, forever. And, I would venture to say that the common thought it that as long as you are using the extra provider with good intent, i.e. not for an actual provider, AC would not care. That is the great thing about AC. It's a laid back program with a laid back community.I wouldn't worry about giving Lisa Lou full privileges. After all, she is just another one of your personalities, is she not?

Bert, You are right. Lisa Lou is a lot freer than the anal retentive Lisa who is worried about making payroll and paying all the bills with opening a new practice. Lisa Lou just loves people and loves making a difference in their lives. She was a nurse for 22 years before she moved to the dark side and is a good balance for the doctor who forgets what reality is sometimes. I guess I will bite the bullet and try giving her full privileges and see what happens. thanks for the support. I will be back with more of my other questions later, but I go to get ready for another day.
PS. I want more info about the next conference.
