I'm kinda new here, but definitely would like to attend the users meeting if at all feasible. I'll be coming from Alaska, so have to travel a long distance no matter where it is. Someplace warm in the winter would be great. Prefer not to have to leave Alaska in the summer 'cause it's so short and wonderful here BTW, my biggest challenge with AC at the moment is in designing the imported document flow for the office. We have a staff of 4 fte providers and about 14 support people, so lots of room for mistakes if the paperflow not set up just so. I've seen some discussion in the group about using Bert's program (FAP?)and Paperport. Can you all point me to the thread that had the most information or do you have any hot tips to share? Thanks, Tim | | |

Sky, FAP works great for a solo practice. It doesn't work very well with a group practice. I think the way Adam and Leslie do it works best, but I am probably not the best one to listen to as I have never tried it. http://tinyurl.com/leslie-paperport I suppose we could all go to Alaska. Maybe Governor Palin could foot the bill.

Oy... well, so much for just having it in RI and bringing my whole team. I'll send out a new survey to all users as we announce V4 (hopefully later this week), and ask about a cruise as well. BTW - the soon to be released V4 is at www.amazingcharts.com/beta currently for those who wan't to try it. I believe this will be the go-live version.

Jonathan, do you remember the electronics store, "Fry's" that you went to in Anaheim, Calif? You came back from there like kid who had just seen Disneyland. I just wanted to point out that I have it on good authority that the Fry's Store in Las Vegas is the largest in the nation, with about twice the square footage of the Calif store. Just trying to help.

I always swore I would never go to Las Vegas... but flights are cheap, occasionally they have a good show I'm interested in seeing and I would go for an ACUC.
Jon- looking forward to version 4. Thank you.

I'm planning on attending IMP camp which looks like it is tentatively scheduled for August - around the 14th in Seattle. I guess another option would be to schedule in Seattle and have ACUC before or after IMP camp... they do fit so well together!

OK, so we have votes for Las Vegas, Seattle, Cruise, EULA, Boston/RI and probably a host of others.
Version 4 has been running very stable in my office for about a month now. Seems much faster. Occasional trouble finding database when restarting computer, but it works. Will upgrade my other office soon.

I like the idea of the IMP camp from what I gather on the board. When and where are they being held, if we are going to try for a "two-fer."

Oh, There may be an advantage to having most of the AC "crew" being able to come, which would push it back to the east coast. There's a very nice Fry's in the Chicago area as well

How about a cruise to Alaska? Don't think Palin will be paying for anything (including a new wardrobe); well, maybe bail for our senior senator.
I reread the posts from you all about document flow. Sounds like folks are using various methods. I'll have to play around a bit more with how AC handles imports and messages/signoffs; still a bit confused by it.

I am leading a complete practice redesign for our clinic and really appreciate the help you all provide with how best to use AC as a productivity tool. Definitely looking forward to the next AC users meeting! Not a huge fan of Las Vegas, but like the Seattle idea since I also participate in the IMP group.

Bert,You are wrong. I know what it is just not when and where the next "IMP camp" is being held. If it is in Seattle then I am game to try and coordinate the two meetings into a single out-of-office experience.

Well, IMHO, I wouldn't spend a lot of time looking for a touristy place to hold the meeting. At ACUC branson 2008, We went long, worked through breaks and even had to vacate the room because they needed it for another group. It seems like the AC user's in Branson just wanted to learn about the program and various work arounds.

Tom,Your are absolutely right. However, perhaps we could extend the meeting another day or so and then string the meetings out a bit so one might be able to see some sights.

Agreed. Have the meetings on Thursday through Sunday. We could go out for the week starting on Monday. Since I get no vacation time, it would make the most sense to combine the two.

I would like to be exposed to the IMP meeting and it seems to me that the obvious setup would be, IF we were going to be at a site that had IMP, then back right up to it and anyone can come early or stay late if they want vacation. Myself, I would like some vacation, but would likely use it for travel if I could ride to the event instead of flying.

Ditto.Perhaps, one might even garner deeper discounts for all if the ACUC meeting were held at the same location/lodging as the IMP. The IMPs not interested in ACUC would not have to attend our portion, the ACUs not interested in the IMP could forego their meetings, those interested in both could combine it in one trip.

I think there are two ways of looking at it and, I don't think many are thinking of the latter.
First, is to think of this great place: Grand Canyon, Miami, Cruise, etc.

The second may be more realistic, which is how last year's happened. It was because Jim Blaine took it upon himself to do most of the leg work setting it all up.

If we are going to do something in the summer, we will need to move forward. I am open to most locations but I agree, any GREAT place is better (the list is only about 40 long)

Just a thought, but I still think WHO is going to take the bull by the horns and organize it is more important than where. I mean who would have come up with Blaine, MO had it not been for Brian and Jim?
So, I think the question is no where but who? Then the location kind of falls into place.
