How do you enter durable items like glucose test strips, lancets, insulin syringes & needles, etc. into the AC/NewCrop e-prescription writer?

The best way to find these items is to enter a product's brand name into the "drug search" box. Searching for "One Touch" results in a list including One Touch Basic System Kit, One Touch II Test Strips, One Touch SureSoft Lancing Devices, etc.

However, it is also possible to search"insulin", "syringe", "lancet", "control solution", and so on. Some terms are not as straightforward: "Blood-Glucose Meter" is obvious, but then the test strips are found under "Blood Sugar Diagnostic".

Is there a "generic" equivalent of such supplies instead of the hundrreds of needles from which to chose? I don't care which brand and don't remember which patient has which brand meter/test strips and don't usually specify length & gauge of needles. I usually write for "home glucose meter, test strips, and lancets" and "insulin needles & syringes" and let the pharmacist & patient match their equipment and needs.

Yes, even if you enter a brand name to do the search, you can click "Generic" next to the listed brand, and be taken to another screen to order the generic (if there is one).

i just list all the things together, in generic way:
ie. lancets, glucose strips, insulin syringes, and quant 90. if you do it once, it should pop up again when u start typing in "lan"...
