when looking at imported items, does anyone know how AC allows viewing pdfs in AC's window? i noticed when i installed adobe's reader, it views inside AC's window fine, but when i used pdf xchange viewer, it opens it in a separate window.

i ask b/c i use ms office document imager to view tiffs, and MODI opens in separate windows instead of in AC's window...i think it might have to do w/ a browser plugin, but not sure.

thanks!

You're right, it seems that the image viewer for AC is an IE browser pane. If you have an activeX plugin for the file type you wish to view it will work. This is why it is possible to view Excel and Word documents right in the viewer. With the right browser OOo can be viewed in AC too.

With PDF X-change go edit>preferences then uncheck "show splash screen". Now, select "file associations" and check "display PDF in browser"
