So now that we are in the middle of October, any news on Version 4?

Please! AC keeps crashing when in the imported items section. This happens once a day and I am hoping it has been fixed in ver. 4. It's not a problem for me so much, but when looking at a note it is. I think this is a rather major bug because of the frequency and the whole program crashes.

It probably only happens with PDF files, and it is likely connected to the viewer. What pdf viewer do you use? It also seems to happen when scanning, I recall crashes several times right after reaching the review screen.

i mostly use .tif files for viewing, us MS viewer. for pdf tho, i use pdf xchange viewer-seems to work well for me i think it might be a little better than foxit pdf viewer... and i wanna stay away from adobe b/c of resource hogging.

Hmm, I use pdf-xchange too. I thought that might be part of the problem. If you use mostly .tiff though then that may be why you haven't seen any crashes. It's still fine most of the time, but I have seen at least one file that crashed repeatedly three times in a row. Not sure the best way to document the bug and send it to developers. And, if the imported items tab is changed in ver. 4 it might not matter. So, where is it?

Fortunately for me, AC has been rock steady.
I saw version 4 at the AAP conference in Boston about a week ago, and played with it a bit. Seemed fairly stable. Jon stated it was a bit more difficult to install. It did have updated prescription writer with microprint which may be CMS acceptable, also gave you the ability to import your signature.
Overall not a lot of new features, but it did seem faster. Primary difference is that it is on SQL. Jon is leary because of the problems others have had in going from access database to SQL (soapware). I too, would like it to be stable before implementing it.
I will be glad when it is in at least beta.

Jon said he was changing something in the way items are signed off. Did you see anything relating to that?

I previewed this feature with Jon - apparently when things are imported and sent to you for signoff the new version will let you look at the imported item - add note, send e-mail to staff, type a letter or just sign off. Will be great for people who import lots of items to look at and sign off. The majority of mine is labs - won't change how I handle them.
