I know that everybody likes here Fujitsu fi 5110C. But that looks like has only USB connection and can not be networked directly and that means can only be controlled from one PC.
Currently I use Brother MF 8860N which can be networked and I can scan and control it from different PCs. But I need a fast and dedicated scanner (Not MF) and need your opinion.
Thanks a lot

I have yet to get my brother 8860DN working properly, but it seemed to scan fairly quickly when it was working. I am about to return it for the second time.
It is probably sufficient for what you need for scanning. You really ultimately only need to control it by one machine, although the ability to fax from multiple machines would be nice if I can get that to work.
Again, I have only had mine for 3 months and it has not functioned well for 2 of the 3 months. I also have a fujitsu.
It is fine to network, but you need to be near the scanner to put the documents in the feeder. Thus, really only one machine really needs to be near the scanner.

DPCC:
I use the Brother MFC 8460 (i think that is the model number). It is 3 years old and still running very smoothly. we are not high volume as far as copies and faxes but have two providers using it. I had a staff member scan all paper charts into AC for me. It easily handles 100+ pages at a time in the document feeder. Rarely ever ran two pages in at once (I would audit the scans for number of pages scanned and imported). I'm sure there are faster scanners out there but I believe that for the type of scanning done in a medical office, the Brother MFC 8000 series are generally more than adequate. And I do love the ability to fax from all my computers- it networks like a dream.
