We have a small office so we needed an inexpensive phone system, sans the cost of a T-1. I opted for and set up the following:
QWest DSL 4620kb Down, 768 down cost including 1 fax line:
$100/month
ZingoTel VOIP Service 6 incoming lines / 2 outgoing (Unlimited long distance)
$49.00 month
Linksys SPA 9000 - $240
Linksys SPA 400 - Voicemail System $230.00
5 Linksys SPA 942 Phones - $105 Each

I am extremely pleased with the phones, the service and the quality.

The SPA9000 is an IP PBX..."IP Telephony System
Full Featured IP PBX System for the Small Business and Home Office."

The SPA400 Is the Voicemail Module/Manager for the SPA9000, "supporting up to 32 voicemail accounts or boxes with customized greetings, providing LVS users the ability to receive and playback voicemail messages from their Linksys IP Phones"

Considering it is a one time cost for 32 voicemail boxes, instead of a monthly fee to your provider it is quite inexpensive

Gkfahnbulleh:

How long have you been using the system? Do you have any trouble with dropouts? Does the system priortize the network for the voip over regular internet traffic?

Carla, I have been using the system for 2 weeks. There are not dropouts, and the call quality is excellent.

The ability to prioritize the VOIP traffic is dependent on whether or not your ROUTER supports QOS.

I did switch from Zingotel to Teliax

I am just starting a practice and decided to go with Vocalocity for my VoIP. Their rates are pretty competitive. No contracts, month to month. I bought 5 of the Linksys SPA942 for $159 each. Where did you get them for $105? Zingo has them for $179. I will let you know more about the service as I use it. I literally just plugged the phones in.

Packet 8 sent me an email for $250 per year per extension for unlimited calls which is a good deal. I don't know about their service. Vocalocity is $34.99 per extension unlimited.

How is Zingo?

I don't have the voicemail package you have, but I have voicemail included in Vocalocity's monthly price.

www.ipphone-warehouse.com. I cut off Zingotel. I am with Teliax. Teliax is 49.95 for 4 lines and 2500 minutes outbound.
