Does anyone here actually use xlink for billing? I have not seen it discussed much since I have been here, it mostly seems overlooked. Why?

I have been using AC for over a year and am just now starting to consider using the ability to generate HCFA forms. I am interesated in third party companies to handle the practice management. What are you currently using?
Have you looked at office ally?

We have been using Medisoft 11 for practice management. I do not have much personal experience with this type of software, so I can't comment much or compare. I can say it seems to have difficulty coexisting with exchange on SBS. I have not looked into office ally, it probably wouldn't suit our needs.

Anyone using xlink?

Well, Sam and I are in similar places. I know Hockeyref (Paul for Bert) said that one particular PM program stood out, but I haven't seen anyone actually using it. I think we're going to end up upgrading to Medisoft 14. frown I hope AC's PM module will be designed in such a way as to allow easy multi-account use by a billing company. Does anyone know if it looks like this will be the case?

Sorry to bump, but I need one more go, though it seems everyone here uses a billing company or OA.

I'm thinking of using x-link w/ AC/Medisoft also and would appreciate feedback. The tech support for AC seems to think highly of it. I am a bit leary....

I don't know why you would want to complicate things with x-link and expensive medisoft, including the cost to support it, time to learn it and so on. Aren't you trying to get the most bang for the buck? I bet that with medisoft, x-link, and the support, and not to mention aggrevation you are looking at least $8000.00 or more.

The idea is that if an encounter can be set up to automatically fill itself out from the superbill information in AC then that could cut the time to get an encounter ready to bill in half. Leaving more time to track down items that are rejected. If that is possible then it would allow three to do the job of four or five. Our billing company is already familiar with Medisoft, so there is no extra training required.

I'm just trying to find out whether anyone has been able to reach that point, or whether everyone is looking forward to AC's PM module. It seems OA is a bit frustrating, but works for some of you. ...It seems best to avoid unnecessary frustration for most AC users.

I have been using lytec with xlink - its great - all encounters show up on my biller's screen as soon as I am done.I have an inhouse biller - I have a cardiology practice that does several office tests .We still do the paper superbill which is only as a check for the biller - cant trust technology for this important task 100% !!. It has cut down the work this expensive person in my office has to do by automaticallty inputting the bill/change in demographics/insurance etc., thus paying for itself fast .

I think Paul and Bert have talked about Alta Point in the past as a PM part but that still requires X-Link, support, training and the cost of the software, still about $6-7000. I like to talk about price because it is about the dollars. That is what attracted me to AC in the first place.
