Has anyone upgraded to Dragon Naturally Speaking 10 Preferred edition yet? I noticed the small print in my mail offer said it would not work with EMR's and you would have to buy the medical edition. Any feedback?

Oops. Put this message in the wrong Forum. Sorry. frown

However, I called Nuance today and they said the same language was present on version 9 which works with AC. I ordered a copy ($100 currently) and it will ship on Aug 8. I'll update my experience with ver 10 Dragon in a few weeks when I get it loaded.

Hmmm... at emrupdate the Nuance reseller said that it wouldn't be shipping until September!

Everything I've read indicates that DNS Medical is well over $1000, too steep for my start up budget. You must be using the regular version of DNS, right?

I use the Preferred version which normally retails for $200. I've found for the most part the vocabulary is really pretty good, surprising me several times with correct spellings of drug names (although it never gets orthopnea despite all my training!). There's no way I would pop for the medical edition.

I bought my first copy of Dragon directly through Nuance (the manufacturer) and for the most part have just upgraded through them since the deals ($99 for new version of the Preferred) have always been great and I know the software is legit. I started getting offers last week (by mail, email, phone, and the automatic update feature installed with the program)(I use several Nuance products). The $99 pricing is an upgrade price and available through the end of September 2008 through Nuance. Hope this helps.

According to the emrupdate thread above, the upgrade price for the medical, through the reseller that sells the product, will most likely be around $250, but it's not set yet.

I too find that the "Preferred" product is EXCELLENT, and just about all any doc really needs after going through the full training process.
