Bert points out some of the advantages of virtualization that I have preached on here many times. Every client I have met from this forum had a bare-metal installation of Windows. Before I came along, any upgrade they did was all or nothing. Today, they have lots of options such as restoring from a snapshot or from a backup up that they didn't have before. Therefore, upgrades that sour are easier to recover from.
Now we know why I do not support bare-metal installs or AC installed on workstations as servers - lack of flexibility.
As for AC in the cloud, that's something I no longer recommend. I've heard just too many horror stories about it. If you want your data pulled from AC's cloud and onto your own server, reach out to me. I can get you a server that doesn't break the piggy bank and get your network ready for prime time to run your own AC and get you a lot more control over what does what around the office.
