Here's the original thread from August 10th where Josue asked if there was a way to turn off the login advertisements:

Bert replied that he couldn't see any ads.

Then Mark at AC assured Bert that the ads were real, but refrained from adding that they're fabulous.

Josue then posted a screen-shot that only showed a white box where the ads sometimes appeared and wondered if they weren't available just then.

Compared to programs that pop up in the middle of typing, mere login ads seem tame.
