Is it possible to modify the printed-out encounter sheet?
For example:
For people with coinsurance instead of copay it is a waste to have the copay listed, and it would help workflow to be able to put down the coinsurance (even a quick list of most common charges on the current fee schedule with the corresponding coinsurances), so that once it is printed out (we do them every morning) you have the information at hand when the patient comes in (we do all payment prior to being seen). I know some offices won't know the level of service or procedures until end of the visit and/or pay at checkout, but it would be a nice option for my office. My current work around is I put copay as $999.99 and then enter coinsurance info after the insurance ID, so it prints on the encounter sheet (the $999.99 reminds me to look at the coins info).
Also a reminder of issues that need to be covered during the visit (routine monitoring labs, results...).
I don't use a computer during in the exam room, I just take the encounter sheet with me into the room on a clipboard, and I do all the clinical check-in myself. I sometimes print a draft note as well to refer to the last visit and I can make notes on that before printing. However, once I do and save it (for use later in the day), it seems I cannot document a payment and make a receipt using the check in screen. I like to prepare for the next day's visits the night before so it is good to be able to make notes/reminders.
So, I guess I am asking for a few optional text boxes to populate on the encounter sheet. My birthday is in January, so you have time, AC.
