I only use the free portion of updox. I have a fax printer that receives faxes, so I do not pay someone else to receive or send them.
That said, I understand that the document management portion is good, I just have not found a need in my practice.
You should have a portal, and updox is that portal. It makes sending emails with PHI easier since you do not have to encrypt the information otherwise. I do both (encrypt and use the portal) That part is free and I would recommend it.
