You can still Import without TWAIN or TWIA. Imported Items can take PDF's, DOC's, etc. Most efficient way is to have Scans dump in a folder with no prompts. Then the user just drags and drops into the II.
Scansnap's interface is better than the AC import interface (auto-rotate, color adjustment, etc.) If you want TWAIN, you can look at their heavy duty model, the Fujitsu Fi-7160 which has a TWAIN driver.
