I know these AWV must be a money maker, some division of Lifeline screening is now going out and poaching patients from my practice for a AWV.
How sad.
The whole point of the AWV is to get Medicare patients in to a primary physician, and make it worthwhile for the physician to make the effort.
Lifeline doesn't do any follow up care, and at least in our area, they do scare people into coming in to see me-- requiring duplication of tests and imaging.
Makes money for someone. Not for me.
