BamaDoc, I went from 6.3.3 to 8 a few weeks ago. I could list a series of improvements that I would describe as "nice" but none of which have had a major impact. The one that I most looked forward to, the improved letter writer, is a disappointment.
The major downside is the drop-off in speed which I would describe as highly variable but not rare.
