Do you know the make and model of the modem? If not, and it isn't in the device manager, you can run Everest on the PC, and it will probably identify it. Is it just looking for a driver? If you know the manufacturer, they should supply a driver.
I haven't worked with modems since forever. But, I doubt the Windows CD will have the drivers for it, if that is what it is looking for.
