Thanks. Everyone forgets about the switch. That's a great point about the UPS/AVR or surge protector. If you have a decent UPS/AVR for your modem, router and switch, if the power goes down, you may still be able to get to the Internet.
Also another good reason to get a managed switch. And, also another good reason to have an IT guy who has a fluke meter or whatever type of meter they use. They can go around your entire network checking network speeds.
