Hello All,
The following is what I did to solve this issue, Hope it helps someone....
.....download this,
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=15697double click the file to install from its location on your computer,
a window will pop up asking whether you want to repair, uninstall, etc I chose to uninstall, after that was done,
I tried to install the AC 7.1.2 again on my client computer...and viola!! the install went on without a single hiccup(no pun)
I was able to connect to my database on my main computer without any problems
.....I have not re-installed msxml file that I downloaded to do this, don't know if that will matter time will tell, so far no issues at all, GOOD LUCK
