Do you use Updox? This would be an extra step or two, but you could send the order to Updox workspace, sign with an electronic signature, date and time stamp it and have your nurse e-fax or secure message it to the hospital lab.
It is not terribly burdensome, other than when my nurse says, " have you signed the darn order yet so I can send it!"
