IPMSG is the one I use. Borgchat is good too. Sandeep's looks rather high tech. It's funny because before I found IPMSG, I used about ten others. And, everyone would work for about two weeks, then they forgot what a LAN was.
IPMSG just works. Never lost a message. It won't notify you, but it isn't that type of messenger. It isn't a Yahoo-like window where you could come back to the computer and not see a message. Every message opens on the screen.
But side notes says it costs $170 for workstations and around $250 for company grade. Unless there is a free one.
