I may see this a little differently...
First, I am a little hesitant to say this, but since you started by stating you "have little to no understanding of health care procedures"... I am not sure how others feel about the liability and quality of care issues raised by your provider's approach. I think that most people would want to sign off on all labs, including the normals. So just recognize that there is some risk associated with what you propose. Do you really want a nurse "signing-off" on incoming reports? How has this been documented up until now?
I may be wrong and others may express a differing opinion.
I would speak to the lab that set up your interface. It has been a while since we set up a lab interface, but I think you have some leeway in terms of whom is notified of an incoming lab. The lab may be able to direct them all to one different provider (e.g. nurse) who then splits them up. Realize that unless the nurse is given "provider status" in AC, these results will appear in the chart in red, indicating that they have not been signed off.
