Okay, I was showing this to my nurses and thought of a problem...
No ICD-9 codes appear in the body of that email that gets sent.
Hey, wait! Just thought of something --
When the lab tech double-clicks on that e-mail, the patient's record will open. If the note is signed off, they can pull the ICD-9 codes from the note.
AND, even if the note is not complete, any ICD-9 diagnoses the doctor has selected will appear in the Problem List of the Summary Sheet!
Okay, I'll run this past my nurses and see if they can poke any more holes in it.
