Leslie and Bert,
I think you both use this same little gem, yes? It seems to me that it is the same little card scanner that one can get at the office stores and on-line for scanning business cards. Those then tie into Excel, Office's contact manager and the like. So if I'm correct and going in the right direction it is the software that whatever company bundles the card scanning device with, to then re-sell them to "doctors" as insurance card scanners? Or perhaps the same company that manufactors and sells them., do so in two different favors with different software; one for regular business geeks and another for the medical ones.
If so, do they come ready to at least do double duty for both business cards and insurance cards? Have either of you tried to use them directly with AC? Do you know if the bundling company has to have another one of these interfaces set-up and in cooperation with the EMR or PM software vendor so as to allow them to talk to each other and work together??? So that only certain programs can take advantage of this product? I used to see them advertised more in the various medical journals like ME and the like. Thanks much.
