Just learned of a code G0181-- now that I no longer do in patient hospital work allows me to bill services for coordinating care without the patient being present, or having a face to face within 30 days--
half hour of documented coordinated care -- 110 dollars, but will vary from state to state.
I still can do the G0180, but you have to have a face to face encounter within 30 days no time aspect involved and about 52 dollars for the G0180
I have been getting reams of e-paperwork to sign off on when the hospitalists are giving orders then my name is on all the home health certification orders to coordinate care post hospitilization.
Often times the patient is unable to come in or by the time they do the e-paperwork is outdated (takes the home health agency 2 weeks to do sometimes) so this G0181 gives me the option to charge for coordinating care without the face to face encounter requirement.
