Updox was the way
several of us qualified for stage 1 MU Measure 14 (
Electronic Exchange of Clinical Information). Although the electronic document (CCD) was generated by AC, HIPAA-compliant electronic transmission isn't a feature of version 6 Amazing Charts. So it is okay to use add-ons to AC to fulfill MU requirements, IMHO.
As far as stage 2 MU,
core measure 10 & 13 requires "... online access to health information for more than 50% with more than 10% actually accessing" and "More than 10% of patients send secure messages to their EP". The Updox patient portal is
integrated with AC, and will satisfy these two measures.
But again, AC may introduce the patient portal with version 7, if you can wait. (Break in on this thread anytime you want, Darryl@AC!)
