I am confused by this. We scan items so we don't have to keep the paper around. If you want to scan "directly" into Amazing Charts, you will need the fi-6130z. Bear in mind, the ScanSnap S1500 would simply require you to drag and drop the scanned PDF into the chart.

If you are planning on scanning a lot, get the fi-6130z as the higher PPM will benefit you.

S1500 Process:
1) Open patient chart
2) Press One-Touch Button to Scan to a PDF
3) Arrives in Folder, Then Open It
4) Run OCR Using Acrobat
5) Drag and Drop to Imported Items in Patient Chart

fi-6130Z Process:
1) Open Patient Chart
2) Go to File>Import Drop Down Menu>Select Import Images Via Scanner
3) PDF arrives in Imported Items
4) Open PDF
5) Run OCR Using Acrobat

Acrobat's OCR tends to be better than the ScanSnap one.
