IPad RDP used to be not as good as LogMeIn ignition, so if you wanted to use iPad . . .
RDP requires the RDP client on remote work station which may not always be enabled say in an Internet cafe, etc. LogMeIn uses a browser.
File transfer is Much easier with LogMeIn
On thin ice here, but I believe RDP requires a fixed IP , which some small offices may not have, LogMEIn does not.
All in all, use what works for you. I use both.
