Hi all,
Thanks again for all the replies and ideas so far.
All of the desktops are doing well with the video cards, I do not think any immediate action is necessary for these.
Laptops are the current problem. We use 3, myself, PA, and medical assistant. I found a Win7Pro upgrade on ebay for $55, I will try this on 1 and see if it is sufficient for the med assistant.
In anticipation of AC v6, I had already purchased a Dell i7 and 12 gigs memory for main computer ($1000) and replaced our 2 slowest desktops with barebones kits, i3 and i5 processors (probably about $900 for both.) Video cards were about $350. So I have spent about $2300 so far.If the 2 new laptops are about $700 each, total will be around $3700 or so.
Even with this expense, AC is still a great bargain.
But life would have been so much easier if I had warning. To be faced with a close to nonfunctional system on a Monday morning was not fun. I doubt I was the only person to experience this. I fear that others will.
So thanks again to all. I especially wish Bert a bat-free weekend. Gene
