Couldn't agree more. Make the leap. Scan and shred. Too bad you can't do it all at once. Simply scan to the server using any software you choose -- we made our own software -- but many scanners have their own, and there is also
www.scanaway.com.BUT, make sure you have at least four to five ways of backing up the data scanned. Don't just burn it to CD or DVD and take it home. You need multiple backups AND redundant backups, i.e. backups a month deep at least if not a year.
