Workaround: download or create and save a generic graphic that says "photo not available". Use that to cover up the photo of Mrs. B that you stuck in Mrs. A's chart.

I googled up a sample graphic. I thought it looked nice, sends an instant message that the photo is missing, and it's only a 14k jpeg:

Just download that and save for special occasions.
