Are you suggesting we should have a database of insurance providers that we can enter payors into, and access from the demographics page?
From what I have learned about database design, this would make sense, since a payor's information is shared between numerous patients, and if the payor's phone or address changes, you would like the updated information to be shared between all patients who use that payor.
I wonder if it could be set up where you could enter the payor's information into the "insurer" field on the demographic page, then right-click on it and save it as a template, like you do in the progress note. Then, when you have a new patient, you could right click again and insert that info.
Can templates be set up where they insert data into several adjacent entry fields with a single click, or must they only insert into one at a time?
