We just migrated from V4 to V5.028 this last weekend. We are a LARGE practice by AC standards -- 9 providers, 2 satellite offices that remote into server(s), 30+ workstations.
V4 and all it's iterations/revisions have worked flawlessly for us.
V5 under low workloads and no heavy printing rx's seemed fine. Under moderate to heavy use system started slowing down and actually timing out so users could not start program from individual workstations (timout under "Checking Integrity of Database on startup sequence), program would freeze when in a patient encounter for 30sec - 1 minute when trying to print out an rx, and generally made our workflow intermittently crawl to a halt!
The staff at AC -- Trish, Joe, and Carlos were all over it and awesome. These guys are great!!! They have been working as a team, have been unbelievably responsive, have been working overtime and after hours to try and resolve this problem. (Try getting this kind of tech support from a VC Company or Gorilla company -- can anyone spell India or Phillipines ;-)
They and our IT staff believe SQL Express was the culprit and just does not have enough juice for our configuration (see above). Last night they helped install Full 2005 SQL and removed SQL Xpress and got us back up and running for this am. We are hopeful that this will solve the problem and again, are very grateful for all the support from the AC Team!!
Best regards,
James P. Clayton, M.D.
