The short answer is no. At least from everything I know. I am not sure why browsing to Word is that many more steps, but here is a workaround that you may want to try.
Make a new folder and save it to your desktop. Rename it AC Templates. I chose to give it an icon such as a folder with a big green arrow on it or some other type of folder with a bright color on top to distinguish from other icons. Depending on whether or not you have another folder on your desktop with closer to the top of the alphabet, you may need to name it "aaa Templates." Place all of your original templates in that folder.
Now, it is simple. When you have a patient: Mike Smith; go to Import Items, browse to that folder. When the window opens, it defaults to the desktop, so with one click you will see your folder with it's easy to identify icon. Open this and import it. Once imported you template is there. You can open it and do whatever you want with it. It is very quick and intuitive.
Short of having your receptionist import every template into every patient's chart which is a lot of redundant and unnecessary work, I can find no other way to do it. Try the above and see what you think.
