What happens if you plug your laptop into the back of the modem/router where the other computer is plugged in ? Does this get rid of the problem ?
I do not have a static IP address, but hated wireless. Other question is why are you on 4.072 ? Even if you are not ready to go to 5 you should be on the current version 4 (assuming you have paid maintenance).
