we are a small urgent care pc, with 3 rooms, x-ray, lab. we have found AC to work great for our practice. we have 3 pc's and two tablet lap tops. one for the provider and one for the techs/rn's to use, moving it from room to room. we also have a server with mirrored hard drives and an external hard drive. we use the external hard drive to scan old charts into so as not to slow down ac with thousands of pages of stuff that will not get looked at very often but still has to be stored. we also us AC offsite back up.

we bought the pc's from dell at about a grand each and the tablets were about $1300. the server i think was also about $1500. so about 7500 with external hard drive, printers, etc. alot less than the 35,000 we were qouted with another EMR and won't even mention the 100K from another. do you have to do more work, yes as far as inputting the info and scanning the charts. but it is still well worth it. our only issue has been a bad hard drive on the network, which dell promptly replaced. the data was still on the other mirrored hard drive and on offsite backup.

very happy so far, patiently waiting the upgrade tho.
