This is a basic item that is missing.
One workaround could be to book an appointment as the reminder. Either set up an appointment slot outside regular hours, eg 15 minutes earlier than first patient, or just use first appt time. Overbook any number of reminder in that spot and staff will see the reminders on the right day.
