Wow, Bert now e know the secret for all your answers. I agree expert exchange is the awesome resource, but then you need to phrase the questions right. I dont think many of them are so tech savvy to even phrase the questions.
anyway, regarding candlecj's question, you can use the instance of SBSr2 instance, but it is asking for trouble. I have not tried it but if you can make it work with regular instance of sql, one should be able to work with the default instance. But as Bert says dont mess around.
Also having multiple instances of sql on server is expected design. R2 is being designed in that fashion and sql express is being promoted that way, so that every applications controls it destiny and will not screw up some other programs db's.
