I wanted to upgrade to V4 today after office hours and ran into possibly one issue to be troubleshooted or resolved by AC Tech Next week. They tried to help but this error requires The HeadTech Mr. Carlos to look at, that is gonna take place on Friday next. Until then I am back on V3.715.
Here is what happens...
I start the installation process and when the program is configuring the SQLServer, it fails 3 out of 6 tasks (shown in the window).
1) The First one is MSXML6....I beleive this to be the offending one. Log file shows a bunch of garbage but it also shows MSXML6 service pack 2 that may have something to do with the XP pro servpack 3 operating system on my machine.
2) SQL Setup support files .....successful
3) SQL Native client ........successful
4) SQL VSS writer.........successful
5) SQL Server Database services.........failed
6) Workstation components, books online.......failed
I am not sure if anyone else has encountered the same, but I know couple have seen somewhat similar or close to this error.
I will welcome any feedback on this particular issue and if someone has fixed it already and don't mind sharing the fix.
