George,

This is not an attack on you nor do I wish to throw fuel on the first. We have talked in PMs and even on the phone. I don't think anyone here on the boards doubts your computer skills in many areas including networking and programming, etc. And, I don't think anyone doubts your passion for trying to use your skills to further the electronic communication in healthcare.

The problem is, IMO, that maybe you go about it the wrong way. You have the ability to help many of us on here with your knowledge, but the perception is you just want to prove everyone wrong. I think if you read this board, you will find that the AC community is a very tight knit and laid back group of people who enjoy sharing their experience with AC and helping others to understand it. If you take on Leslie and Steven on a personal level, you will always lose in the end, because Leslie and Steven have been on the boards for a long time, and everyone loves them. While users being friendly with one another may not make AC the best and most used EMR in the world, it goes a long way toward making our day better.

I can get away with making some fairly critical comments on the boards, because (I think) I have earned some respect on the boards. But, believe me, I have been taken to task by more than one person on here, and I listen and take it to heart.

The Amazing Charts message board is also a "safe haven" for other doctors who are kicked out of other message boards, specifically EMRUpdate. Over there your posts would be considered docile and people probably wouldn't even be commented on. It is just a different culture.

From my perspective, I think you mean well. You do not have to take my advice, but here it is if you are interested. Share your knowledge with us. Don't assume we are all stupid because we don't pontificate everything about CCHIT and HIT, etc. Many of us concentrate on trying to change the bells and whistles and are happy to let Jon do his thing. Take what we say with a grain of salt. I don't think we all need to agree, but we just need to treat each other with respect and help each other.

As a great example, I recall the thread on iPhone and WM. I pretty much got my lunch handed to me by at least five users and in PMs. But, it was all done in such a way that I was not offended, and I learned a ton.

What do you think?
