Anyone else have this? Reply or delete message but takes a refresh to actually disappear the message.

I'm going nuts trying to figure which messages I responded too and clicking message refresh repeatedly like a madman after every message.

I agree. This is happening to us too. messages are NOT auto deleting after response has been made. We need to REFRESH after either responding to one message or multiple messages.

Here also. We have had multiple times that Amazing Charts has an error and just shuts down when attempting to go into our messages..... Happy Monday!

I believe they released the current version in a rush without fixing bugs. It is a serious issue because at times I have ended up working on wrong message and working on wrong patient which is dangerous. They knew about it before the general release.

I'm having the same problem. The messages don't disappear after being deleted, unless you refresh. The promise for this update was to be able to receive updated messages without refreshing! Ironic.

Hard to believe it was possible to make the Messages component of Amazing Charts even worse. But they've done it.

I am refreshing after every time I take care of a task in the inbox, to get the message to disappear. An extra step that I did not have to do before the upgrade.

Actually this started earlier. I am on 10.1.1 and have the same problem.
I too, was thinking of upgrading to fix this problem, but maybe not.

It has significantly worsened from 10.1.1 to 10.1.3. Don't updgrade.
Incredibly annoying. I hope this gets fixed soon.

Now I am discovering that if I check my nurses outbox, which has a message about patient X, I then go back to my inbox, the message about patient x is still there and will not clear when I hit refresh but only when I click on a patient name under patient list or click on a subject line in my inbox. This is not good.

Look at Chris' message today about 10.1.3 issues. It seems to cover this issue and should be corrected soon.

While I appreciate Chris' fast reply to above reports of the Messages bugs, his prior post is a concern. Could it be that 500 practices were using version 10.1 without noticing the bug? Maybe the beta is being tested by the wrong practices. The users on the top of this thread noticed the bug within a few minutes of each other, and reported it here. Maybe they should be in the test group.

Also, I don't find this failure to auto-delete trivial, especially since it requires a change in behavior by AC users relative to Messages. Yes true, refreshing was always necessary to see new messages, but not after messages were acted on. As Naeem mentions in his post above, I have found myself opening the wrong chart occasionally, since the message doesn't go away as before. We don't need a new potential source of documentation errors caused by our EMR:

I have to defend Beta users as I am one of them. This was reported to the developers.

Interesting, at least 1 beta user reported this bug, but 10.1.3 was rolled out anyway. Those of us using AC for years are not surprised.

Nor is this unique in the EHR industry. Read about the magnitude of the mess in last week?s Kaiser Health News investigation, published in Fortune online, dealing with multiple EHRs. My favorite excerpts:

- (the EHR?s) spaghetti code was so buggy that when one glitch got fixed, another would develop
- Poor interface design and poor implementations can lead to errors and sometimes death, and that is just unbelievably bad as well as completely fixable ...
- One IT ticket, which related to a physician?s notes inexplicably deleting themselves, reportedly took 10 months to resolve
- MedStar?s human-factors center launched a website and public awareness campaign with the American Medical Association to draw attention to rampant mistakes?they use the letters ?EHR? for ?Errors Happen Regularly?
- Thomas Duncan died after being sent home in 2014 from a Dallas hospital infected with Ebola virus after traveling to Liberia, due to an EHR error

AC developers: there are consequences of software errors that impact lives. Just ask the families of the Boeing 737 Max crash victims.
