Anybody using an ambient scribe with AC? Thoughts / experiences? I have downloaded Doximity Scribe but have not used it with patients yet. My state specialty meeting this month had presentations about using them, implying MAJOR time savings. The speakers taught me that computers can hallucinate. Proofreading is the first-line treatment for that. However, if your computer then develops tardive dyskinesia, you run.

If the scribe formats the note, how will the various components be imported into AC. It would be more work for me to cut and paste the generated scribe note to "fit" into the different sections in AC. I would presume that a scibe made for AC (know where to put the various components into AC automatically) would for me be a better choice. Example the ambient scribe listens to the whole visit and hears me asking if the patient has a dentist and places that information where it needs to go in the AC chart. Or when I ask the patient if he or she goes to school, what grade they are in and how they are doing in school and the scribe then places that information in the social history part of AC.

With the free Doximity scribe it is a cut and paste job. And I agree with you, but the note it generates is organized by section so HPI, ROS, PMH, FH, SH, (it does not do meds), Exam, impression and plan, about 7 cuts, 8 pastes. You just open it on the same computer as AC and chop it into place. Now, I have not actually done it yet, and this is NOT AND ADVERTISMENT.... I type my notes now which helps me organize my thoughts, but my colleague that uses it is a go go go bill fast and retire early kind of guy and he really likes it. He actually does the whole note and pastes it himself, but I guess an MA could do the cut and paste part, but you still MUST proofread it and sign. Just an interesting time of evolution. Ooh, look at that asteroid in the sky.....

I am using Heidi and Love it. I'm using the free version. It takes some tweaking but I'm starting to get the free version to dump billing codes into my note. They have integrated an ai evidence section which I never use. There is an suggested code section which I have used a total of three times. I only copy and paste. For me it's a big time saver but I still manage to waste as the same amount of time. The best things though is that my documentation is generally better. I have tried dictating notes with Doximity Scribe and Heidi and while not sure I am saving time (maybe), my notes look better and compared to dictation with Dragon Medical less errors and just reads better so bye-bye Dragon. Will try the features in the $30/mo version of Heidi to see if helpful. Next is to get a microphone for my computer in the exam room to get the full experience of patient history and exam and plan being evaluated in real time and put into the note, imagine that is where the time savings comes in although expect the proofreading time will go up, carry on A.I.

Yes, Heidi is the second cousin to HAL 9000. The cool thing is that some of the web-based big boys have AI incorporated directly into the program. Makes writing an up to date, smooth, well formatted note as well as giving you the differential, treatment plan and all the info you can think of. Great for MDM and it looks up medications much faster than say Lexi-Comp. It even suggests the top antibiotics and labs to get. Puts everyting in order top to bottom. If you write a long HPI that is all over the place, you can copy and paste it into ChatGPT for free and it will take the same information and write the perfect HPI.

What I like is I then take that along with a few labs or demographics and it offers writing a progress note or, especially a perfect phone consult paragraph with questions.
