OK, I feel stupid. I should know this, but I never have had a reason to do it:

Can you make a full visit template for Amazing Charts by selecting WCC under Select Template? When I read it says, you have to do it in each field first.

Yes you can made a visit template, it is just a matter of what you are trying to have autofill.

I'm with Bert on this; how does one make a full visit template (e.g. a two month old well infant check, including typical milestones in review of systems, normal physical examination, the usual well child check diagnosis, and standard parental advice and counseling).

I use templates heavily in my notes. But I only see a way to create a template for each field (chief complaint, HPI, review of systems, exam, etc) not an entire visit note in one go.

Advice or screenshots appreciated from anyone currently doing this.

This goes back to 2021, from Mark@AC:

There is a function called "Visit Templates" at the top of the screen. This is essentially a multi-field template. Building these are a little different from the classic way of building a template, however. Here are the steps.

Start with a blank note, document every field with what you would like the template to say (for example, a standard physical). Once completed, click the "Enlarge Textbox" option at the top of the screen. Once that screen opens, there are a couple buttons at the bottom, one of them is "Save Visit Template". Click on this option. You will be taken to a screen where you can name your template, select a category for the template (well visit, sick visit, etc), and select which fields you want to save as part of that template (for example.. for a physical, I would want to save, CC, HPI, ROS, but I would not want to save PMH and SH as those would be unique for the patient). Once done, click save.

Now to use that template. Open a note and select the "Visit Template" button at the top, under date of service. Select the category, and the template within that category that you want... It will populate the fields chosen.

Why do you say it is not an answer

Thank you Chris! I would definitely not have figured out all those steps on my own (nor have found the original Mark@AC post).

Much appreciated. A significant time and typing saver.

Is it worth a donation, lol. Just kidding. But you do get the very cool hand dropping the coin icon if you donate. :-)

Contributed. To those considering: this board has provided enormous value to me as a solo practice Family Physician using Amazing Charts. The number of tweaks, tricks, and time saving ideas on it is incredible.

Whenever I have a problem with Amazing Charts I come to this site first. Response time from other users is fantastic (on the order of hours).

And the general comradery with other like minded clinicians is also valuable. Solo practice is fun but it's nice to know there are other souls out there fighting the good fight.

Thanks Carl, just a note, Bert does not keep any money from the donations. He only asks for enough to keep the board up and running. There are so many ideas and tricks listed on the board that may be hard to find but are accessible.

The board used to be run by Jon and Amazing charts but was discontinued after he sold out. Bert was able to get the rights to the board and picked up where the new owner's (not Harris) dropped the ball. Thanks for the contribution and glad to help. Many people have helped me through the years. I don't just gripe on here!

If you look at the HELP tab on the AC start page you can see the heading for the Amazing Charts Community Board. It used to link to the board but not any longer.........

That long dead link and another in the help section tells you all you need to know about the attention Harris gives to maintaining AC. I remember telling Chris some year ago how demoralizing it was to see "Recommend improvements" as the menu item between two dead links.

We have even discussed the dead links with Harris in meetings and it has never been addressed.
