So I am a small psychiatric practice, just me and 1 nurse practitioner. We moved from Server-based to cloud about 7 years ago. I don't seem to have near the problems that I read about on this forum. Plus from reading these threads, it appears that many of you must have Ph.D.'s in networking and hardware because of the complexity of your discussions. Is it my imagination or is cloud-based less trouble?

If AC Cloud runs with no crashes, minimal lag, and 99.9% uptime you might be the smartest of us.

A handful of us find running servers and networks a minor "hobby".

I cannot remember the last time we had a crash of AC. The add-on pharmacy programs especially NewCrop is slow as is med history from SureScripts. I understand the concept of a hobby as something to enjoy in your spare time. Fixing a crash while practicing medicine would seem to contradict the term!

No crashes is excellent. Any random errors .net or sql error messages that you have to click through?

Also what version are they running in the cloud? It's under help/about amazing charts. is it 11.4.3 or 11.3.2? It's helpful to know what they consider the most stable version is.

Running 11.3.2, never get .net or sql crashes. It takes about 45 seconds to open the link in a browser to Citrix, put in password, opens a page showing AC icon and Cloud Logoff and then 10 seconds later it's open and ready to log in. Last upgrade we had an error where they didn't transfer my Practice Documents to the new seat and they fixed that in about 2 minutes. You have to pay for every cloud seat (5 of us in our practice including office manager and secretary, TMS coordinator, NP and me), then annual and monthly fees. Reading about upgrade disasters worries me and I am sure sooner or later it will be forced on me, hopefully by then the bugs will be worked out with the help of unknowing and unwitting beta testers.

Maybe you need a masters but certainly not a PhD.
